Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American advisor to the political process, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. She is a member of the Democratic Party and previously served as the White House deputy Press Secretary (2009), the White House deputy Communications Director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson for the US Department of State (2013-15) and as the White House communications direct (2015-17). Psaki was an CNN political contributor between 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as a political contributor for CNN. She was involved in the re-election campaigns for Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later appointed as deputy press secretary to John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki worked as the director of communications to Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned to politics in 2012 and was the press secretary for President Obama’s 2012 campaign. The 11th of February 2013 Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State. Her appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House. However, on May 30th the 30th of May, 2014 it was announced Josh Earnest would replace Carney.
