 KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born 19th August 1965, is an American actor. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was honored with a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The seventh season of the show was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was an educator and therapist for families as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI as the venture capitalist. Her mother, who was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said that she is a part of Passover seders.
